Kristy lives in Queensland with her partner of 25 years and their teenage son, and a menagerie of dogs, chickens, and ducks. She gets her inspiration from visiting and researching old abandoned buildings and cemeteries, especially in outback towns. She has traversed much of the countryside in her trusty 4WD and camper trailer.
Having degrees in journalism and creative writing, and currently doing a PhD in creative writing on the 1890s gold rush and great floods in Queensland, she finds any excuse to get outdoors and write about people and places, regularly contributing to magazines and publications on a freelance basis, as well as editing and proofreading for select clients.
